There have been some awesome movie trailers this year, plus the usual load of trash. But the teasers that tipped over the edge into classy territory? Well, only a few managed to be a cut above the rest. And while they were all well and great, only one of those really deserves the honour of Best Trailer of 2010.

That film is Rubber.

A film about a tyre that rolls around killing things with its telephatic powers.

Ya, rly.

There are other video efforts worth saluting. But none of them even come close to Quentin Dupieux's inflatable psychic killing machine (thanks to Twitchfilm for the rubber-tastic image). What's that? You want another list of the Top Films of 2010? Well, I'm too indecisive to only pick 10, so I've widened my selection to include the best 15 films of the year (with five honourable mentions at the bottom).

If you missed any of these, then well done - you have a life. You also successfully disqualified yourself from disagreeing with me. Ha. So if you want to complain about what I put top of the pile, go get Greenberg on DVD. Or at least watch Kick-Ass a minumum of three times. Then we'll talk. Although by then it'll probably be 2011, and all of these films will be long forgotten...

Comic-Con is here! And so is the first video: the all-new ultra-shiny mega-blue trailer for Tron: Legacy. [Insert screams and drool here]

Yes, we've got ourselves another look at Joseph Kosinksi's sequel to the techno-surfing classic, and it's much the same as the last trailer (over here with a pretty batch of stills). But with a LOT of added cool new bits.

So Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), who saw his dad Kevin (Jeff Bridges) just before he disappeared down his digital rabbit hole, is all grown up now. And he's been summoned into the Tron world by a mysterious man, Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner), and a pager message from thin air.

With light bikes, halos and spandex suits galore, Tron: Legacy's world has been beefed up for the 3-D age. And that includes not just one Jeff Bridges, but two: the CGI-faced Clu, Flynn's evil computer. Who looks awesome in a vibrant orange outfit. His face is damn impressive too - the effects work really is completely seamless.

Read on for the video and get super-excited. Then once you've calmed down, watch it again. Trust us, you'll want to.

The Cannes jury for 2010 will be headed by the man whose head wears hair like this. Tim Burton, gothic maestro and all-round weirdo, has been selected to lead the Cannes judging panel for the festival next May. So will we get more twisted titles taking home the Palme d'Or? Or will Tim show his milder side as an all-round cinema lover? This is what the director had to say:

"After spending my early life watching triple features and 48-hour horror movie marathons, I'm finally ready for this. When you think of Cannes, you think of world cinema. And, as films have always been like dreams to me, this is a dream come true."

A conclusive answer, there, from the man with the glasses. I don't know about you, but I'm excited.
