With his second spot behind the camera, Ben Affleck is out to prove he can do Heat as good as Michael Mann. Boiling the tension on Boston streets, his success mostly comes from him being in his own backyard. He knows the town and gets how it works. So does Doug MacRay (Affleck). Charlestown is, the opening titles inform us, the hot spot for heists and robberies. And MacRay was born right in the middle of it.

"Mr Cobb has a job offer he would like to discuss with you..."

It sounds innocent enough, especially when Michael Caine says it in the third (and presumably final) Inception trailer. But this is no ordinary occupation - Mr Cobb is a guy who steals secrets. From other people's minds. Using his magic dream machine briefcase, he gets inside your dreams and nicks information from your brain. 

It's a pretty damn nifty concept for a post-Matrix world, where buildings can collapse in on themselves, people can hover all over the place, and corridors twist and turn at a brain-melting speed. Cobb (Di Caprio) may have a tragic wife-related past to deal with, but Christopher Nolan's latest is not short of spectacle.

And the latest trailer is clear proof of that. Dazzling visuals and an impressive-looking cast are all on display here, with the first real public plot outline from Nolan's team - if you think I just spoiled the plot, go watch the video. It was online over at the Inception viral site, Mind Crime, hidden inside the stage 2 game (walk around, find a movie theatre, walk in and hit space bar). But now, for the lazy fans, you can read on for the full high quality video.

Hold onto your briefcases, people. This is most likely the movie of the summer. If not the whole year.

Yes, this is the latest IMAX-ified poster for Christopher Nolan's mind-bending thriller thing, which appeared over at Yahoo! Movies. You can tell how crazy it's going to be by the number of people standing on the ceiling - that is, all of them. They're also all carrying briefcases or guns. Or briefcases with guns. Or briefcases with guns in them. Or -- you get the idea.

More interestingly, we also get what might be our first glimpse of Marion Cotillard in full-on Inception mode, showcasing balance skillz that rival those of Leo, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page (she's running upside down!).

Inception will twist your brain into tiny pieces in July. Excited? I couldn't possible comment. Mainly because I'm too busy sticking this poster to the outside of my house.

There's nothing like a violent French film. Especially when it comes to crime. Proving that resoundingly well is Jacques Audiard's latest film, A Prophet (Un Prophete), a hard-hitting piece of captivating cinema. Following the rise behind bars of North African teen Malik (Rahim), it's one of the most claustrophic character studies of recent years. Forget Mesrine's Killer Instinct: this guy's clever, resilient and he can see the future. That last bit is where it starts to fall apart.

You never know what you're going to find on a red carpet. A future partner, perhaps. Maybe a tenner. But sometimes, you come across some incredible talent. 1 Day, a Birmingham-set British film, tells the tale of Flash, a guy who needs to find £100k in 24 hours., which he owes to Angel, who just came out of prison.

Chased down by rival gangs, let alone his nan, it's pretty much the world's first hip-hop musical. Featuring original music from the cast, all of whom are first-timers from the streets where its set, Penny Woolcock's movie is a major leap for them. It's great to see them strutting down towards the cinema.

First up, Dylan Duffus, who plays lead character, Flash. He looks pleased. Rightly so. How's he finding his first film role? "I've never acted before. Prior to this was nothing, so this is all a big experience for me right now. I was a barber by trade, but now I'm here! I'm enjoying every minute of it."

Has he got anything coming up next? "Well, I've got some music coming out, but hopefully some more acting. The sky's the limit."

Life on the streets is tough - you might get shot at any time. And people do, every day. Not that we hear about it. We just hear about the one innocent white kid who got caught in the middle. 1 Day tells the tale of the others. Flash (Duffus) is a dealer with a good life. He has a family, several babymothers, and connections all round. But when Angel (Watson), lead man of the Old Street crew, comes out of prison early, Flash has a problem - he owes Angel £100k. He doesn't have it. What he does have, is 24 hours.
