Martha Marcy May Marlene

Terrifying and beautiful, this might well be the best film of 2012.

Review: Acts of Godfrey

84 minutes of rhyming couplets? It sounds well annoying but I actually loved it.

Review: The Descendants

Nice film, shame about the voiceover.

Tinker Tailor Whack-a-Mole

There's a mole at the top of The Circus. Can you bash its face in?

Review: Like Crazy

A superb anti-rom-com that breaks some cliches and obeys others, which only makes it more moving.

Review: Shame

A devastating, magnificent film that trades almost solely in sex – and yet looks right through it.

Review: Coriolanus

Like Olivier and Branagh before him, Fiennes makes Shakespeare as gripping as it ever was. Verily, Voldemort did good.

If Newsreaders Did Shakespeare...

Inspired by Jon Snow's role in Coriolanus, here are some other Shakespeare adaptations starring newsreaders.

Review: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

After Benjamin Button and The Social Network, this feels like Fincher back in Se7en territory. Grizzled, haunting and beautiful.

Woody at the BFI

As the BFI's season of Woody Allen films continues, we look back at some of the director's best (and worst) films.

The Artist

A feel-good treat, pure and simple. You’ll swoon, you’ll sigh, you’ll want to tap dance.

Ground-breaking is a word that gets thrown around like a frisbee these days. This sequel to Disney's 1982 effects-smashing Tron looks impressive enough to claim such a grand moniker, but it's duller than dunking a Digestive in a cup of lukewarm tea. Yes, it's shiny and yes, it's blue but the most accurate adjective here is soggy. If we're keeping with the biscuit analogies, that is.

There is clearly a global conspiracy to make me excited about this film. First the Tron Night footage, then my nephew colouring my BMX with fluorescent marker pens, and now the new Tron trailer? DAMN YOU, JEFF BRIDGES AND YOUR ARMIE HAMMER CLONE!

Tron Legacy is out on Friday 17th December.

After the success of Twentieth Century Fox's Avatar Day, Disney held Tron Night yesterday - a chance for fans to see 23 minutes of preview footage from the upcoming Tron: Legacy. The verdict? Pretty damn awesome.

Continuing on from Steve Lisberger's incredibly impressive 1982 movie, Tron: Legacy takes place in an age where technology is far more relevant. It's so advanced that the film's in 3D, an arguably unnecessary touch, but one that at least makes the title screen stand out a little more. The rest is just as stunning however you see it (hint: IMAX).

In case you weren't already excited enough by Tron Night (my house, bring a BMX and some glow-in-the-dark masking tape), a new poster for Tron Legacy has turned up online. And it's rather purdy.

With Garrett Hedlund centre stage holding up a light disc, supported by the sexy  Olivia Wilde, you might think this looks a bit familiar. And that's because it is. It's actually a remake of the original Tron poster from all those years back in 1982 - which was probably printed on a dot matrix printer.

Expect stunning visuals, slimline costumes and lots of blue glowing lights. Because that's what the future of technology is people.

Read on for the full new poster (and the old one too, just to compare).

Over the weekend, folks across the Atlantic were given details of a special preview treat: a Tron Night, with 20 minutes of preview footage from the 3D sequel.

Well, after a vague promise of details "coming soon" online, Disney are definitely doing the same here. In the UK. On Thursday 28th October.

Taking a leaf out of Avatar's book, Disney are following Fox by holding a special evening of brand-new clips and videos featuring a 3D Jeff Bridges (along with a 3D Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner and Michael Sheen).

Tron Legacy Night will be held across the UK in various digital and IMAX screens - you remember Avatar Day, you know the drill. To get your tickets (first come, first served) head over to the Disney Screening site. The codeword is 'Legacy'.

Joseph Kosinski's Tron Legacy hits cinemas on Friday 17th December. And Christmas may well be all the better for it.

Just in case the Comic-Con footage didn't give you that full Tron fix you needed, up pops a new poster for Disney's 3D sequel. It's blue, it's shiny, it's got Jeff Bridges - it's everything you'd expect from a Tron Legacy poster.

More specifically, it has Kevin Flynn (still played by Bridges) holding a light disk, stuck in the world of Tron where he's been for the past 25 years. Joseph Kosinski's new Tron outing sees his son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund), head into the Tron universe to rescue his dad, inevitably coming into conflict with the malevolent program Flynn designed: Clu (also played by Bridges, but with added mo-cap CGI).

It's not quite as dynamic as the recent trailer (then again, it is a static image) but if what you want from your Tron franchise is Jeff Bridges looking as Dude-like as ever, then this will totally rock your light bike to bits. Read on for the sexy new international poster - with an emphasis on the word international.

Comic-Con is here! And so is the first video: the all-new ultra-shiny mega-blue trailer for Tron: Legacy. [Insert screams and drool here]

Yes, we've got ourselves another look at Joseph Kosinksi's sequel to the techno-surfing classic, and it's much the same as the last trailer (over here with a pretty batch of stills). But with a LOT of added cool new bits.

So Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), who saw his dad Kevin (Jeff Bridges) just before he disappeared down his digital rabbit hole, is all grown up now. And he's been summoned into the Tron world by a mysterious man, Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner), and a pager message from thin air.

With light bikes, halos and spandex suits galore, Tron: Legacy's world has been beefed up for the 3-D age. And that includes not just one Jeff Bridges, but two: the CGI-faced Clu, Flynn's evil computer. Who looks awesome in a vibrant orange outfit. His face is damn impressive too - the effects work really is completely seamless.

Read on for the video and get super-excited. Then once you've calmed down, watch it again. Trust us, you'll want to.

It's a year to go, people. One year in the future we get the next installment in the retro world of Tron. And, with just 12 months to tick away, the teasers have started up again. We all remember the trailer from Comic-Con (see it over here if you missed it), but now you can drool over these brand new pictures! There's a sexy poster, and even a still of Garrett Hedlund's Sam Flynn alongside Olivia Wilde's supporting companion. Just imagine them in 3-D, and you're practically watching it already!

Read on for the full hit on that juicy techno-tease. Oh yeah...
