Director: Ethan Coen, Joel Coen Cast: Jeff Bridges, Hailee Steinfeld, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin Certificate: 15 Release Date: Friday 11th February
A remake of the 1969 John Wayne Western of the same name, True Grit tells the tale of Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld), a young 14 year old who wants revenge for her father's murder at the hands of Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). Calling on drunk old US Marshall Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) and a dedicated Texas Ranger, LaBoeuf (Matt Damon), the Coen brothers' latest is a story of justice, morals and guns.
Jeff Bridges. Eyepatch. Matt Damon. Moustache. If you need any more of a reason to see a film, here's the trailer and some clips.

Hats are brilliant. You've got to love hats. The Coen Brothers learnt long ago (before No Country For Old Men) that if you put a man in a hat, you get results. Miller's Crossing had its fair share of hats. It was a straight-up masterpiece. And that was way back in 1990. But you know what? You've never really seen a hat until you've seen Hailee Steinfeld wear a hat. She takes hat wearing to a whole another level. Hats and her? It's a thing of beauty.
There have been some awesome movie trailers this year, plus the usual load of trash. But the teasers that tipped over the edge into classy territory? Well, only a few managed to be a cut above the rest. And while they were all well and great, only one of those really deserves the honour of Best Trailer of 2010.
That film is Rubber.
A film about a tyre that rolls around killing things with its telephatic powers.
Ya, rly.
There are other video efforts worth saluting. But none of them even come close to Quentin Dupieux's inflatable psychic killing machine (thanks to Twitchfilm for the rubber-tastic image). Still, if you like your movies non-road safe and free of exploding birds, Read on for the other top trailers of 2010.

It's been 28 years since we last saw The Grid, and plenty has changed. It's gone from hand-drawn effects over the top of black cushions to sexy, stunning and sleek. A lot is thanks to the CGI, which is genuinely impressive for most of the movie. But how do you go about updating The Grid? You can't just shut it down on Sundays and disrupt The Dude's weekend commute. Joseph Kosinski, Olivia Wilde and Jeff Bridges all sit down to chat about making Tron: Legacy. The costumes, the 3D, and THAT face...
Director: Joe Kosinski Cast: Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen Certificate: 12A
Ground-breaking is a word that gets thrown around like a frisbee these days. This sequel to Disney's 1982 effects-smashing Tron looks impressive enough to claim such a grand moniker, but it's duller than dunking a Digestive in a cup of lukewarm tea. Yes, it's shiny and yes, it's blue but the most accurate adjective here is soggy. If we're keeping with the biscuit analogies, that is.

There is clearly a global conspiracy to make me excited about this film. First the Tron Night footage, then my nephew colouring my BMX with fluorescent marker pens, and now the new Tron trailer? DAMN YOU, JEFF BRIDGES AND YOUR ARMIE HAMMER CLONE!
After the success of Twentieth Century Fox's Avatar Day, Disney held Tron Night yesterday - a chance for fans to see 23 minutes of preview footage from the upcoming Tron: Legacy. The verdict? Pretty damn awesome.
Continuing on from Steve Lisberger's incredibly impressive 1982 movie, Tron: Legacy takes place in an age where technology is far more relevant. It's so advanced that the film's in 3D, an arguably unnecessary touch, but one that at least makes the title screen stand out a little more. The rest is just as stunning however you see it (hint: IMAX).

In case you weren't already excited enough by Tron Night (my house, bring a BMX and some glow-in-the-dark masking tape), a new poster for Tron Legacy has turned up online. And it's rather purdy.
With Garrett Hedlund centre stage holding up a light disc, supported by the sexy Olivia Wilde, you might think this looks a bit familiar. And that's because it is. It's actually a remake of the original Tron poster from all those years back in 1982 - which was probably printed on a dot matrix printer.
Expect stunning visuals, slimline costumes and lots of blue glowing lights. Because that's what the future of technology is people.
Read on for the full new poster (and the old one too, just to compare).
Over the weekend, folks across the Atlantic were given details of a special preview treat: a Tron Night, with 20 minutes of preview footage from the 3D sequel.
Taking a leaf out of Avatar's book, Disney are following Fox by holding a special evening of brand-new clips and videos featuring a 3D Jeff Bridges (along with a 3D Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner and Michael Sheen).
Tron Legacy Night will be held across the UK in various digital and IMAX screens - you remember Avatar Day, you know the drill. To get your tickets (first come, first served) head over to the Disney Screening site. The codeword is 'Legacy'.
Joseph Kosinski's Tron Legacy hits cinemas on Friday 17th December. And Christmas may well be all the better for it.
"You got a lot of experience with bounty hounters do you?" "That is a silly question - I am fourteen."
So speaks Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld), orphaned girl and determined bringer of vengeance. Presuming she gets the help of old, drunk, sociopathic Marshal Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges - rocking an eye patch). Which she does. And then some.
And finally we get the chance to savour the setup in full detail thanks to the theatrical trailer turning up online. There's no need to say how amazing it is. But to sum up in a few words: Josh Brolin. Matt Damon. Coen Brothers. Moustache.
