Martha Marcy May Marlene

Terrifying and beautiful, this might well be the best film of 2012.

Interview: James Watkins

The director of The Woman in Black and Eden Lake sits down and chats with us about horror, Daniel Radcliffe and 3D.

Review: Acts of Godfrey

84 minutes of rhyming couplets? It sounds well annoying but I actually loved it.

Review: The Descendants

Nice film, shame about the voiceover.

Tinker Tailor Whack-a-Mole

There's a mole at the top of The Circus. Can you bash its face in?

Review: Like Crazy

A superb anti-rom-com that breaks some cliches and obeys others, which only makes it more moving.

Review: Shame

A devastating, magnificent film that trades almost solely in sex – and yet looks right through it.

Review: Coriolanus

Like Olivier and Branagh before him, Fiennes makes Shakespeare as gripping as it ever was. Verily, Voldemort did good.

If Newsreaders Did Shakespeare...

Inspired by Jon Snow's role in Coriolanus, here are some other Shakespeare adaptations starring newsreaders.

Review: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

After Benjamin Button and The Social Network, this feels like Fincher back in Se7en territory. Grizzled, haunting and beautiful.

Woody at the BFI

As the BFI's season of Woody Allen films continues, we look back at some of the director's best (and worst) films.

The Artist

A feel-good treat, pure and simple. You’ll swoon, you’ll sigh, you’ll want to tap dance.

After the slight backlash on t'internet about the BAFTA Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, some wise person on The Twitter suggested they do the opposite. Instead of people who have "captured the imagination of the British public", why not reward the people who have taken the public's imagination and exchanged it for All About Steve?

These are the nominees for the inaugaral i-Flicks Falling Star Award. Their careers are all on a downward trajectory, as demonstrated by a critical/box office flop in the past year.

No one will ask him to start a franchise again any time soon.

Not cutting the figure she used to at the box office.

Even The Hangover 2 was too good for his cameo.

In sore need of something without CGI animals.

Compared to Johnny Depp, Cruise's star power is starting to fade.

Email your chosen winner to iflicksfallingstar@gmail.com.

Voting for the Falling Star Award closes midnight Saturday 12th February.

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. It takes a great name to attract stars from Hollywood's A-list. Ever since 2006's The Lives of Others, it was clear that the man christened Florian by the Henckel von Donnermarcks was destined for great things. This isn't one of them.

"Attempted murder? That's not that serious."

"Not when you downgrade it from murder, but when you upgrade it from room service..."

That's Johnny Depp as hapless tourist Frank, who gets caught up with the mysterious Elise - a woman who looks a lot like Angelina Jolie - on a train journey across Europe. But no sooner than you can say Sexy Facial Hair, he's being shot at in Venice and being chased by Paul Bettany (Sexy Non-Facial Hair).

With this new international trailer, The Tourist is still looking to be quite a solid little thriller. All set to trump James Mangold in the naming department, director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck has pretty much gone ahead and made Knight and Day. But better.

The official synopsis uses words like "whirlwind romance", "breathtaking backdrop" and "thrust", so you know you're in for a good time. Plus the trailer doesn't use Muse as the backing track, so it's clearly classy stuff.

The Tourist is out on Friday 10th December (seven days after Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii, just so you know). You can see the The Tourist teaser trailer here. And there's also a glamourous Facebook page to drool over. But first, read on for the new video.

When the story of Anna Chapman's identity as a Russian spy hit the headlines, several things happened. Her British passport was revoked. Folks at Columbia Pictures thanked her for making this preposterous plot more believable. And lots of people wished Anna had done more cool spy stuff. Like shoot people, jump onto moving vehicles, or use her pants to cover up security cameras. Now Salt is here, everyone's happy.

Trailers/Clip

June (Diaz) is trying to get back home to Boston for her sister's wedding. She’s running around Wichita airport dragging a suitcase full of car parts attempting to make a last minute flight. She keeps bumps into a tall, dark, handsome stranger - well, actually, it’s Roy Miller, played by Tom Cruise, to whom not all those adjectives can be applied. Once on the plane, June's flight is far from smooth: through a bizarre series of events, everyone onboard ends up dead. Apart from her and Miller.

1. Scouts Are Cool

"You were a Boy Scout?"

"An Eagle Scout, yeah."

"I was a Brownie!"

Actual lines spoken by Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise. This is clearly the kind of example that Hollywood A-List actors should be setting for your kids. Especially if Boy Scouts are taught to blow stuff up.

2. It Promotes Maths

Like you don't want your children seeing THIS: yes, there's some complex formula shizzle on the wall. And Tom Cruise is LOOKING AT IT.

3. Tom Cruise Is Not Mel Gibson

With Mel taking the heat off Tom Cruise's back for a while, it's never been easier to enjoy a film that features both him, motorcycles, and none of that crazy stuffs.

Hollywood's A-List duo descended upon London last night for the UK premiere of Knight and Day. Arrivving to screaming fans, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were happy to strut their stuff up and down Leicester Square's red carpet.

Selling their sexy partnership with a shiny dress a big smile, the stars of James Mangold's comedy action caper did justice to their on-screen chemistry - Cameron by flashing her long legs, Cruise by being really, really short.

The film did eventually get shown, but only after Tom had signed lots of people's pieces of paper. And phoned somebody's mum. Because that's what big actors do in London. What did they have to say about Knight and Day? Well, our spiffy video report well tell you that. And save me from typing anything more.

Knight and Day is released on Friday 6th August. You can check out the trailer over here, or read on for the super-shiny premiere footage.

"What am I wearing?" "A bikini." "And how did I get in the bikini?"

It's a conversation most people may well dream of having with Cameron Diaz. But, of course, it's Tom Cruise doing the explaining in this brand spanking new clip from Knight Day - yes, the words Tom Cruise, bikini, Cameron Diaz and spanking, were all just used in close proximity together. But it's the kind of thing we're coming to expect from James Mangold's summer blockbuster, which has chemistry, star presence, and silly videos coming out of its earholes.

Yes, Tom and Cameron seem to be having a whale of a time shooting this spy thriller (did you see that awfully likeable football video?), which sees the unsuspecting June caught up in crazy secret agent Roy Miller's escapades. Most of which involve things blowing up. Loudly. Its old-fashioned banter may be an acquired taste for some, but the tone seems to be as high as its pace - there's no shortage of action in the trailers so far. It's almost as prolific as the Photoshopping going on for the new round of posters. But hey, at least their super-imposed heads are enjoying themselves.

Check out all of those over here, or read on for the entire bikini-based scandal (along with the suggestive poster). Knight and Day is released on Friday 6th August.

During this glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure, nothing and no one – even the now fugitive couple, Knight and Day – are what they seem.

Amid shifting alliances and unexpected betrayals, they race across the globe, with their survival ultimately hinging on the battle of truth vs. trust.

As far as comedies go, you can't get more chaotic than the madcap action of True Lies. But forget Cameron's crazy creation - here comes another Cameron to top it. And she's packing her own Tom Cruise to boot. Yes, Hollywood's two biggest names are reuniting for the first time since Vanilla Sky. The good news being that this looks for more promising.

It's called Knight and Day, with Cruise's secret agent constantly interrupting Cameron Diaz's everyday life. Normally by shooting some people or crashing a plane. It may seem a little cliched or forced, but it's directed by 3:10 to Yuma's James Mangold and with Tom on top twinkly-eyed charismatic form, this may well be something special. Or, at the very least, something very expensive.
