Ever thought Peter Parker was a dumb name? Perhaps you hate Bruce Wayne's poncy moniker? Or maybe you just want to be Dave Lizewski? Well, now you can do better: you can be the alter ego for Mark Millar's next superhero, Superior.

In something of a tradition for the Kick-Ass scribe, Millar is auctioning off the name to his next comic book character, giving everyone a chance to live on in the pages of graphic novel history. And very possibly on screen as well.

Superior, launching in October, is the story of a young boy who has multiple sclerosis. Then, one day, thanks to a magical wish, he becomes the superhero of his dreams. It's written by Millar, and drawn by Leinil Yu - the only thing missing is that character's name.

"We had great success with the Kick-Ass and Nemesis auctions, and hopefully we can raise a similar sum again with this opportunity," says Millar on the auction's page. "Dave Lizewski is now an action figure and movie icon as well as a comic-book character and both Matt Anderson and Blake Morrow are delighted to find themselves as the leads in the upcoming Tony Scott adaptation of Nemesis."

All proceeds from the auction will go towards a special needs unit in a school where Millar's brother, Dr Bobby Millar, has been raising cash for handicapped children for several years.

Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) - and forges a friendship with another fledging super hero, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.

It may look harmless. It may sound harmless. It may even be considered entertaining by those unaware of its dangerous effects, but swearing is no laughing matter. Did you know that there is swearing in Kick-Ass? The Daily Mail knows.

Thanks to that bastion of UK society, we are all now forewarned of this potty-mouthed and puerile piece of filth, which could seriously offend and damage your children.

Especially when characters say words like "fuck" and "cock". And shoot people in the face.

Angelina Jolie is getting all kinds of offers at the moment. Will she star in Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity? Who could blame her? It certainly looks interesting. Although, according to some sources, she's denied any interest whatsoever. And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, she may sign on for Serena, a project with Darren Aronofsky.

The director, having wrapped Black Swan, is circling this adaptation of Ron Rash's 2008 novel, which sees a man and his new bride head to the woods to start a timber empire in the 1920s. Only for the woman to flip slightly, then end up looking to murder her illegitimate son when she finds out she's as barren as a block of wood. Chris Kyle has scripted it already, but the project needs some financing before it goes ahead with either Jolie or Aronofsky. Presuming she does sign on for it in the first place.

 
In this crazy mixed up world of non-denial denials, all we know for sure is this: Angelina ain't starring in Wanted 2. Although, according to Universal insiders, that sequel is still going ahead.

Ok, you've probably already seen bits and bobs of Matthew Vaughn's upcoming (un)super-hero comedy over the internet, but just in case you haven't, here's your chance to watch the new red band international trailer for Kick-Ass. Posters and videos have been flying around online for a while now - with more to come before the film's release - but the more I see of this, the more it looks brilliant.

Davie Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is a comic book fan. So much so that he decides to become a costumed crime fighter himself, even though he has little to no power at all. Let alone super powers. Cue a caped crusade through a world where small girls can run up walls, shoot people mid-air, and Nicolas Cage doesn't act like Nicolas Cage.

In short? Amazing. Based on Mark Millar's ongoing series (started in 2008), Kick-Ass hits screens on Friday 2nd April. Read on for the video.
